#winning

Sorry, had to make a Charlie Sheen reference! I've never liked the guy much but I'm loving his crazy. It's hilarious and I'm sorry, if someone was tasked to write a script for him to come off as crazy and hilarious they wouldn't have come close to what he's delivered in interviews. I do feel bad for this family though.

ANYWAY! I ended up getting sick. I was out of work Monday and Tuesday and still felt like crap Wednesday and Thursday. It was a bad cold and I had a low fever and then it turned into possible allergies. I had really bad itchy and watery eyes, no, really bad. I started taking Zyrtec on Friday because I can't function taking Benedryl. It knocks me out.

Long story short, not one workout this week, and even though I felt sick I had my appetite for the most part. I was super worried I'd have a decent gain but by some miracle of god (after the weekend and half-ass counting points while I was sick) I managed to be down .6!

I actually skipped my meeting today so I could sleep in and rest but I weighed on my home scale on Friday for work and again today. Today it says 173.6 and hey, I'll take it.

I'm thinking the previous few weeks of doing well helped me out but I can't mess around anymore. I am going to kick ass this week!

John and I have been talking about playing basketball for a while. We're huge Magic fans and besides that, I played basketball in middle school and high school. I was really into and actually pretty good. I was a really good shooter and really loved but what held be back was my lack of confidence and my sophomore year of HS the coach said I was too short to make varsity so I ended up quitting after that year. I regret it in some ways, I wish I had finished out HS playing. In middle school my dream was to play for the WNBA. I did go on to play lacrosse my junior year but I didn't have the same passion for it.

So yeah, the point of the story, we bought a ball and found a park to go play! It was beautiful out today and we shot around for a bit and then played a game of HORSE. I won! I didn't even get one letter! It took me a while to get my groove back and I'm by no means as good as I was in high school but it was fun! We did a little one on one too but I was so tired and out of breath I quit. I also made the mistake of wearing sandals and my sundress but I thought we were only going to play HORSE! :)

We had dinner out tonight at this Mexican place in Tampa called Algusto's. It's really good and if you're in Tampa I recommend it! We were pretty hungry after basketball so I went a little crazy with the chips but not too bad. We had some salsa and guacamole and then for my entree I got green mole chicken. I estimated the best I could with e-tools help and I estimated my meal to be 19 PP. Luckily I had 15 PP left and earned 1 AP.

We went to Urban Outfitters and then to Target to get some cleaning supplies (apartment cleaning mission tomorrow) and shared a frozen yogurt. When it was all said and done I used my 1 AP and 9 WAP. I don't like having to estimate but I did the best I could. E-tools said 5 PP for 15 tortilla chips (they were small size chips) which sounds low but I'm going to go with it.

Tomorrow I am planning to do an outdoor run while John bikes but it may rain. In that case I'll hit the gym for a run. I got some new knee things, patella bands(?) to try out instead of my shitty knee sleeves. I'll see if they help.

Okay, time for bed, I'm sleepy!

party time

This will be a short post because I'm not feeling well. Last last light I started getting a sore throat and today it was still there and I feel a little weak and stuffy. Ick. :\

On to the good stuff, on Friday I had my weigh-in for the work Biggest Loser contest and I was down .6 and my teammate was down 1.4 so I was happy! We were heading out of town so I went to WW to weigh-in on Friday since I'd miss my meeting Saturday. My scale at home was an ass again and gave me the impression I'd be down a pound. I rush to get to my meeting and I stayed the same. Annoying.

Friday we went to a Magic game and it was really fun. We got sushi for dinner and I didn't track too well but I didn't go super crazy.

Saturday technically started my new week in terms of WW. Saturday was our engagement party! It was really nice and we had a great time. I didn't track and honestly didn't pay too much attention to what I ate. I don't think I went SUPER CRAZY OMG but I know I used a lot of WAP. I just went ahead and said I used all my 49 WAP for the week.

Today wasn't a perfect day like I'd hope and since I feel crappy I was sort of meh about things and ate random things throughout the day. Nothing crazy though I think I stayed in my dailies. I hope...

I have been bad about water since Friday and eating a lot of sodium so I really need to drink a ton of water the rest of this week and be super good. I am worried I will see a significant gain but I have to try and be positive and kick ass this week.

I have a feeling I may feel too icky to workout tomorrow but we'll see.

Time to go rest up but one last thing!

Congrats to Jen on finishing her first half-marathon with an awesome time!

John and I at our party. :)

All the bitches love me...

Sorry, I'm listening to that Dougie song which I half love and half think is a joke. :)

I realized I haven't posted in a while. Last week went pretty well. Towards the end I use more WAP than I would have liked. I ended up losing 1.4 putting me at 174.2. I was happy but was hoping for 2.

So far this week is going well. Yesterday I had a tough strength and cardio circuit type workout. I was super sore today. I still managed to drag myself to the gym and ran a 5k distance on the treadmill in around 35 min.

I am super sore so I may rest tomorrow or do light cross training.

Thursday I have spin class and Friday is a rest day and I will have to weigh-in Friday since Saturday is our engagement party. :)

I am trying really hard this week and hope to see at least 172.something on Friday!

Glee tonight was epic. I just downloaded two songs from the episode. Darren Criss is hot.

Not cool.

So let me break this down.

I wake up at 5 a.m. to pee and discover my monthly visitor a knockin'. FML. At least there is a reason for the lack of weight loss this week...

I get up at 8:45 and weigh myself a few times before I leave for my meeting, please note the craziness.

176.8
176.0
174.8
174.8

Let me just mention, my scale at home is about .8 to 1 lb heavier than the meeting, so after confirming that 174.8 THREE times I got my hopes up a little but knew not to trust this crazy.

I get to the meeting what do I get? 175.6 "Down .4!"

I am pretty pissed but clearly another force is causing my weight to fluctuate a lot.

I had a good time today with Jen at the mall and I got two dresses! One for my engagement party from Ann Taylor Loft in a size 10. It was a little snug on my hips but it was a little pricey and I was between sizes and if I lose 5-8lbs I don't want to have an expensive dress not fit. It's really cute!

I also got a really cute dress at Macy's that was on sale in a size 10. It's fitted so a little unforgiving around the stomach but even so it's flattering.

John helped Jen and I make a delicious WW dinner. We used a recipe from this new cookbook I got today at the meeting. It's called Just 5 and it's all recipes with only five ingredients. We did a Feta-Pesto stuffed chicken, green beans and some roasted potatoes.

I am out of points for the day but I'm full and if I get hungry later I can have some 0PP fruit or veggies.

I know if I have another great week I will see a big loss next week, so that is my motivation. I'm hoping to be down 3.6 this next week.

John and I may end up going to AirHeads tonight which is a trampoline place! I might earn an AP if we go!

First weigh-in of 2011!

So today was my first official weigh-in at Weight Watchers of 2011. It's a good thing I mentally prepared myself for a gain because it was a little more than I'd hoped. I was up 4.8 since the beginning of December, but still less than before I did the cleanse.

I'm excited to really commit to the new program this week and see the results. Today went well and I only went one point over into my weekly allowance.

Tomorrow I'm going to my first bridal show with my friend Claire, who is getting married in September. It will be a little bit of a challenge with free champagne, food tastings, cake tastings but I need to stay in control. We bought this little frozen breakfast souffle things today at Whole Foods which were pretty low point so I'm going to have that tomorrow morning before I go.

That's about all for now, just relaxing and watching the Magic game. Go Magic!

Just stopping by to check in...

Lately I've felt meh about my blog. I get minimal response to it (love all the people who do respond!) so it's not much of a motivator in that sense.

I missed my weigh-in today because I'm in Orlando. John and I came here Wednesday night to spend a long weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday.

His mom. step-dad and grandpa came for dinner Thursday. It was a nice time.

At night I watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince since I finally finished the book last week!

Just started Deathly Hollows tonight!

Anyway, I weighed this morning (brought my scale) and I appear to be the same or possibly down a half pound. Hard to tell since I'm not weighing in at my apartment (does that matter I wonder if it's the same scale?).

I started the cleanse I'm trying out. Today is day 1 of the intense cleanse part. It's going okay. I'm not going to tell you what the cleanse is until I finish it. Tomorrow is another hard day and then Monday through Friday is easier and I finish off with two more serious cleanse days.

I normally hate upon such things but I trusted my acupuncturist and went with it.

I'm going to WW next Saturday to learn the new program and hope this will kick start me in a good way for the new WW program.

Off I go...

p.s. Family is eating pizza in the other room. FML!

I love this time of year!

We are getting a cold front in Florida this weekend! When I left for my WW meeting this morning it was 50 degrees! May sound like nothing to some of you but for us it's thrilling.

I weighed myself this morning when I got up and my scale kept giving me different weights. It usually doesn't do that so I was annoyed. I figured I'd go because I've been the past four weeks and it's a good habit to get into (meeting attendance) and next week I'll possibly miss my meeting because I'm headed to Orlando. I'll also miss my meeting Thanksgiving weekend but I may weigh-in at a different location.

So anyway, I weighed-in and I was down .6! Yay! To be honest I didn't do that great this week. I didn't do terrible but if I can really focus this week I have no doubt I can be down 2-3 lbs.

I am still aiming to get as close to 165 as I can for NYC so with a little over a month left I need to be 100 percent focused.

Next Sunday is the Founder's Day 10k. I am going to try my best and may try and run with Jen and Kitzzy but I'll run my own race and see how my knees feel. :) I hope the weather is nice!

Well I need to run and do my hair before I go out for the day.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Halloweek!

Last week was a fun week getting ready for Halloween festivities and such.

Friday night was John and I's three year anniversary of dating. We celebrated by going to Seasons 52 for dinner. I did pretty good but still had a bit of sodium and ended up having two of the chocolate covered strawberries that I got him so I was worried about weigh-in on Saturday.

I woke up around 8:30 a.m. to pee Saturday morning and figured I'd check my weight. I looked like I'd be down a pound so I got ready for my meeting and was stoked.

I got to the meeting and ended up being down .4 this week. Hey, I'll take it. A half pound is fine with me for the morning after a celebration.

This weekend on the other hand got a little crazy with points. It's not like I hate a boat load of candy (in fact, I hardly had any) but I just went over points here and there. I think I have 10 WAP left for the week and I refuse to use anymore. My goal is to earn between 10-13 AP.

Auntie Flo came to visit Sunday so right now I feel bloated and crappy but I'm hoping by Saturday to at least be down another half pound.

I have 10 lbs I want to lose in 5 weeks. I need to really commit if I want to get this last bit off before our trip. I will do it or at least get damn close trying.

I have another 10k coming up on the 14th so since my knees are feeling better I am going go try and amp up my running again this week and next. The longest run I'll get to if I'm lucky will be 5 but if I can run 5 I can get though 6. I don't expect to beat my previous 10k time.

I'll leave you with my Mad Men costume. I'm the second from the left in the purple.

Quickie/sleepy!

I didn't get a chance to post this weekend. It was a busy yet fun weekend. Saturday we ran errands and got sushi for dinner. I wasn't feeling great in general so we took it easy that night.

Sunday we went to Big Cat Rescue which is a really great place and you should check it out!

So back to Saturday, I went to my WW meeting and I was down 1 pound which brought me back even after the 1 pound gain the week prior.

My goal this week is to lose 3lbs. I know it's asking for a lot and since I've already used 15 WAP it's going to a lot of discipline the rest of this week.

Today I went to the gym after work to attempt at 4 mile run. I stopped at 2 miles because my knees started hurting and I don't want to push it since I shouldn't be running at all.

That being said, I might not be able to do the 10k. :( It's three weeks away so we'll see but my knees are still giving me problems and I need to work on strengthener my legs and not pushing my luck with trucking though a 10k. So we shall see...

Well I gotta run. Want to fold some clothes before bed and have time to relax.

I'll check back in Sunday since Saturday will be busy with Halloween festivities!

The weekend is here and the cool weather is back!

It started getting warmer again this week but now it's cooled off again.

Yesterday after work I went for a 3.1 mile run. I wanted to do 4 but my knees were not happy. Ugh. I have to be better about doing my PT exercises.

John is in Portland so last night I did some chores, ran to Petsmart to get kitty food and then relaxed and watched Order of the Phoenix since I just finished the book.

What a HORRIBLE representation of the book. I can't remember if the first four movies were that bad but being that the book was fresh in my mind I was able to detect a lot of crap. I understand needed to leave things out, cut things short but why change things you include?

The one thing I will say is that the casting they did for the movies is really on point. There are only a few characters I don't think fit well. Even Hermione, who people say Emma Watson is too pretty to play, does a good job portraying the character.

In other news, I had weigh-in today. I knew I'd be up. I didn't do good enough to come off a week of a 3.6lb loss and lose. I was only up 1 so not that bad.

My goal this week is to be really strict with points, get my workouts in and lose at least 2!

My mom and sister are on their way here now so I better run! We are going to do some shopping and paint pottery. I think we may do sushi for dinner. We were debating a Lebanese place  but it will be hard to stay OP there.

I have more to say but I'll update again tomorrow!

Weigh-in/Another 10k

So this past week my weight has been fluctuating a lot. Overall it was down but I'm thinking the fact Aunt Flo is here was causing a lot of changes.

I woke up early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so I decided to go to the 8:30 a.m. meeting.

I was down 3.6! Wow. I feel great! I think the 10k last Saturday helped and I also snacked a lot less this week but I ate most of my WAP. I also just noticed I lost a point. Yay! It's a good thing. Heh.

I can't let this get away from me. I have to do good this week and keep the momentum going forward. I officially have 13.4 lbs to lose for my NYC goal which is 8 and a half weeks away. I can do it! It will take hard work!

Yesterday I had a pretty bad day, I won't get into the details but luckily it turned around when I got home. I took a nap and then around 7 p.m. John and I went to Whole Foods to get a bite to eat for dinner. I had a little salad and two bites of his pizza.

Then we went to the new Nordstroms Rack that opened by us which is amazing. It's a discounted Nordstroms with items 30-70% off.

I found my dress for Halloween! I'm going to be a take on Joan Holloway from Mad Men. I got a great Calvin Klein dress for $40 (originally $130!). I also got a pair of really awesome shoes for 50% off.

So much win. This place can be dangerous for my bank account though so I must watch it!

John also got pants, a tie and cuff links for his costume which is a take on Don Draper from Mad Men. :)

I'm trying to think of where we should go for dinner tonight. We always eat out Saturdays. I want sushi but I can't go crazy with points so it might be a bad idea. Hmm.

We are just going to relax and run some errands today.

Tomorrow we are going for a bike/run (either in the morning or early evening) and I'm going to meet Daniella for lunch and another trip to Nordstroms Rack so she can check it out. :)

Oh! I ordered this dress the other day as a night out dress for our trip (obviously, will need tights and a a big jacket!) to NYC. I am hoping it fits good. Now it has some reviews and they're all good so I'm happy!

Okay, last but not least! I signed up for the Founder's Day 10k on November 14th. I'm hoping to improve my time buy a few minutes! I'm excited to have another race to keep me focused on my running. :)

weekend update: good and bad

So let's see...where to start?

Saturday I had my WW meeting. I think we have a new leader. I'm not sure because I was 15 min late (they changed the time again) and the new lady was leading and my old leader was still there watching. Hmm. I hope we have this new lady because I could tell right away I liked her a lot more. I just looked on WW online and she is indeed the new leader for Saturdays. :)

I was up .8 which sucks. I didn't have a good week points wise though so I couldn't get that upset. Our location is a "pilot" where the center is open retail hours. The set-up is totally new and it's really nice. I left the meeting and headed home.

The weekend was relaxing. We saw that new movie The Town and it was really good! I highly recommend it!

We went to Michael's and I got a cute glass jar/bowl and pretty blue glass beads. So not only is it motivational but it looks nice. I stayed in points Saturday and Sunday and didn't snack at night so I have four stones so far! :)

So far it's working great.

Yesterday I did a 4 mile run outside. Not much to say as far as that goes. It was hot. Ugh.

Now with bad news...

I took Dakota to the cardiologist this morning. Turns out he does have heart disease. I have to wait to find out more details from the vet tomorrow. From what I know now, it's not that bad/advanced. He is most likely going to go on medication to slow his heart rate. I'm guessing his heart beats faster than it needs to right now? Like I said, I'll find out more tomorrow.

I just pray to whatever there is that he leads a happy and long life with us.

Week 8 of 10k training/weigh-in

So I couldn't stay for a meeting today due to a conflict of appointments but I went to at least weigh-in.

I was up .2 lbs which I know is no big deal and not that bad considering it's that time of month and using all my WAP.

This week I am going to try my hardest and do my best.

Take things one day at a time. Focus on being positive and eating whole and good foods.

Tonight we are getting sushi and I have a plan! I'm getting one roll, the ginger salad and a miso soup. I can eat an apple before we go to make sure I'm not starving.

Week 8 of training went well except for my run yesterday which was just TOO HOT. Yuck!

Doing two out door runs this weekend. Got a 5 mile and a 5.25 mile. Yay for the long weekend!

My throat still hurts, ick! I stopped at a clinic and they said I looked okay but gave me an antibiotic to fill if I get worse.

Well, off I go to relax. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Week 7 of 10k training/weigh-in (or lack there of) + 5 miles!

I have to be quick but I wanted to post!

First off, week 7 of training was my first week I missed more than one day and I ended up missing TWO long runs. I missed both my 4.75 mi runs. By Sunday my feet hurt from walking around theme parks and standing at the concert I was done! My 4.5 mile run I had posted about which I did last Monday outside went great at least.

I ended up missing my meeting and it was hard for me to say my weight based on my home scale and to be honest I can't even remember! I was too excited to get to Orlando!

Points went okay over the weekend/trip. The only bad meal I had was Friday night when we were rushing to eat at House of Blues. I had a bad veggie burger (bad as in on a kaiser bun and cheddar cheese) and sweet potato fries! I was famished by the time we ate and literally had 30 min. until doors! Luckily that was Friday so it didn't fall into my new week. :x

Other than that I ate well over the weekend.

So yesterday I looked at my training plan and low and behold it was a 5 mile run! CRAP!

I decided to do the run indoors on the treadmill to help me ease into it and I said I'd take it one mile at a time and had to at least complete 4 miles. I knew the 5 miles would take about an hour. I just kept pushing and although my speed wasn't great I finished all 5 miles in just under 60 minutes! :)

Only 1.2 miles to add onto my time!

I've decided that once I run my 10k on October 2nd I'm going to stop working on distance and focus in increasing my pace to 10 min. miles.

I currently have no desire to train for a half-marathon so I want to focus my energy on increasing speed.

That's all for now!

Week 6 of 10k training/weigh-in/outdoor run/pizza

So week 6 of training went well. I'm up to 4.5 miles. My knees have started bothering me a little again so I need to watch that closely. It's also taking me upwards of an hour to complete the run so it's getting long. Overall things are going well.

We had a busy Saturday so I didn't have time to get to my Weight Watchers meeting. I weighed in at home and it appeared I was down .8 lbs. Not too bad since I didn't have a perfect week.

Starting Sunday my meeting location changed and they are doing a test market thing in Tampa where the WW location is open all day and you can stop in pretty much any time to weigh-in or buy products. Pretty cool if you ask me!

Saturday we had a dinner at John's parents and my parents came over too. It was nice. My mom brought these mini-cupcakes for dessert which set me back some WAP but overall I was 15 over. Not too tragic.

Today we woke up early (7:30 a.m.) and headed out to the causeway for a run. We took a while to get going and get out there so by the time we were out it was 82 degrees (feels like 92) and the humdity was 90 percent, ouch.

Here are some photos:

Me showing my "it's hot and I'm dying!" face at mile two when we stopped to look around the boat docks.

John riding his bike down the path, the sun was brutally hot!

We went 4.04 miles in just under an hour. I probably took between .25 and .50 (probably closer to .50) to walk because it just got SO hot. It's good for me to get used to this since October will still be steamy for the 10k.

After we got home and showered we went out for brunch and I had an egg white omelet (hold the cheese) and then we went to DSW (shoe store) and found nice water shoes on sale! Score! You'll see why this is good later...

Did our grocery shopping and took a nap for an hour and a half. We were beat!

Tonight we made homemade pizza with organic whole wheat dough. It came out good! We wish it was a little crispier but overall it was yummy!

It had zucchini, eggplant, red pepper, onion, garlic, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts and some chicken. Yum!

Now we are just relaxing and waiting for True Blood and Mad Men!

So I am off this Friday and we are heading to Orlando to see the Deftones! I have a special ticket so I am going to a meet and greet with the band. I've loved them since I was 15 so I'm super excited! :) We are staying in Orlando Friday and Saturday night  and on Saturday we are going to Aquatica because my friend got us free passes. :) We've been to some water parks this summer and it's so hot the ground burns your feet BADLY. Hence the water shoes!

Since we're gone Saturday I'm going to weigh-in on Friday morning.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Week 5 of 10k training/weigh-in

Short post since I'm tired but I had to update!

I went to my WW meeting today and was down .4 lbs. This made me happy since I had dinner at Berns last weekend and use most WAP.

I'm making some changes this week and am working for a 2lb loss next week. See my previous post for info!

Week 5 of training went well. No missed days and I ran 12.25 miles total! I replaced the short run day with cross training to change things up and I think it was good. :)

Well, that is all for now! :)

Week 4 of 10k training/weigh-in/sad

Hi everyone,

I skipped my meeting today. I got on the scale at home and after what I thought was a decent week I saw I was either going to stay the same or be up/down .2 in either direction.

This week I ran 12 miles. Three days of four mile rules and one day or strength. I missed my strength/short run day Thursday because things got hectic Wednesday night but overall I had a great activity week.

I think something might be going on with my body. I have an appointment for a physical in a week and I'm going to get blood work and my thyroid checked out to check all areas.

John and I are going out to this fancy/yummy steakhouse tonight to celebrate his recent promotion. When I saw the scale this morning I didn't want to go. Now that I know I have to have an amazing week to see what the scale says if I am SUPER strict.

So I sat down and mapped out dinner...
  •  French Onion Soup - 7
  • salad (no egg or cheese) - 1
  • salad dressing on side - 1
  • 7 oz of lobster (steamed with no butter) - 4
  • melted butter on side (estimate 1tbsp worth) - 3
  • 4oz tart frozen yogurt - 2
  • fruit topping - 1
I feel in control of the situation before getting into it.

Now I'm off to get ready for the day and try and stay positive.

Week 3 of 10k training/weigh-in/negative thinking

Let's start with discussing week 3 of training. Overall it went good. As mentioned earlier I missed my short run/strength day because I wasn't feeling great but I picked up yesterday and faced my 3.8 mile run. Yesterday was an annoying day for me so I was excited to run because it helps clear my mind.

I started my run at a 5.2. I've noticed the past week or so while my legs get tired from running I wasn't dying out of breath. I think it's because my fitness is improving. I had been starting at 5.0 so I wanted to kick it up.

I ended up passing the 3.8 and went for the 4. I felt good and said, "Oh, why the hell not?" Some days I'm off and some days I'm on and today I felt good enough to do it.

I increased my speed as I went.

Mile 1: 5.2 pace
Mile 2: 5.3 pace
Mile 3: 5.4-5.5
Mile 4: 5.5-6.0

I only pushed to 6.0 the last .3 or so but wanted to finish strong like I would in a race.

One thing I do when I run is try to envision myself at my goal weight. You could envision yourself in your wedding dress looking thin and great (Did I do this? Maybe. Am I getting married? No. Don't judge me.) It really helps me focus on the goal of finishing a run.

When I finished I felt great. I honestly can say I feel in the best shape of my life. Am I at my lowest weight, no. When I was could I run 4 miles, hell no.

So today I headed to Weight Watchers feeling good but also wary because I knew I use all my WAP which is a bad idea for me. I do not have a fast metabolism and over the last five years have learned if I want to lose I can't use them all.

I got on the scale and the woman goes to me, "Up a little, .2."

I just laughed. "Seriously life? Funny joke! I just did something last night that made me feel great and now you have me GAIN?!"

I went to sit in my chair before the meeting began and tried to clear my negative thoughts.

Normally in these situations I turn into the most negative person ever. Honestly, it's quite sad. I think things like, "I'm a fat piece of shit who will never get to my goal." Often times I've come home crying and hysterical.

Today when I was driving home those negative thoughts crept in and I thought NO. I read on a blog about a concept from some book about replacing every negative thought with a positive one and soon you will push them all way.

"You are beautiful and strong and accomplishing a lot. It might take a while but you will get there."

I said it to myself three times. I felt better.

Did it cure me of my negative thoughts? No. It helped though. I think it's a great strategy for me to start using.

What I said to myself is true! Go away negative thoughts, you're not welcome!

So I leave you with that for today.

Tonight I have a challenge. We are going to see the Rays play the Yankees (go Yanks!) and meeting my parents for dinner before. Mexican food...no!!!

My friend Jen helped me make a game plan for dinner and I know what I'm ordering and eating.

I will have three points left after dinner and I am going to bring a snack to the game to tide me over.

Tomorrrow I have another 3.8 (or 4) mile run so today I rest.

I'll leave you with a picture. John and I at the new Yankee Stadium last July. :) Go Yankees!

Week 2 of 10k training/weigh-in

So this was week two of the 10k training. So far (since Sunday) I've run 11.5 miles this week.

I swapped a few days this week to fit my schedule better but I completed every day.

I had my first 3.5 mile run yesterday which marked a new longest distance. It wasn't that bad of a transition from 3 to 3.5 Over the next week I work up to 3.8.

Yesterday my company had their picnic for employees and families. I ended up going over daily points by a handful and eating more sodium than I would have liked. I tried to drink lots of water to make up for it. We got home around 4:30 and I took a nap. I woke up at 7 and still had my run. I made myself get to the gym and ran the whole time!

So today I woke up to go to WW and weigh-in. Based on my home scale I thought I'd be down one pound. I was worried though because (TMI coming...) I haven't gone to the bathroom in two days. I still thought I'd be down...

I got to the meeting and had to weigh-in on a different ladies scale which I have noticed always makes me weigh more. Turns out I was up 1 lb. I was really upset. I worked hard this week.

Sure it could be the scale and the lack of bathroom visits but if I really evaluate my eating I used all 35 WAP which was prob. a big contributor.

So this week I am only allowing myself to dip into 10 WAP and my goal is to earn as close to 20 activity as I can! I can use 5 of those.

Anyway, time to go...going to see Despicable Me tonight!

Week 1 of 10k training/weigh-in!

Hello, hello...

I'll start off with my weigh-in. I went to my WW meeting yesterday morning and was nervous. I checked my weight twice this past week and wasn't seeing any big change despite the fact I did good with points and worked out five days! I went in thinking I'd have a 1lb loss which is good but I wanted more.

I got on the scale and the receptionist told me I was down 2.4!!! I was so happy!

A few hours later yesterday I had a monthly visitor arrive which leads me to believe I may have even lost more so I hope that shows up next week! My goal for next week is to lose 2 more.

John and I went to Ikea yesterday. John wanted to get lunch there. I was worried because I didn't know what healthy options their food court would have. Obviously no Swedish Meatballs for me!

I got some smoked salmon slices over some spring mix lettuce. I love lox so it was pretty good. Hard to say how many ounces so I used the set points value for lox of 5 points. I had one and a half of Johns meatballs. I had also gotten a bowl of vegetable soup but it wasn't good and I was hot so I didn't eat it.

We were at Ikea a long time and when we got done we did our grocery shopping for the week.

Last night we got sushi for dinner and I used 7 of my WAP by the end of the night. Not bad for a weekend. I don't feel guilty.

We saw Inception in IMAX last night and it was awesome! Go see it!

Today is my last day of week 1 of the 10k training. I have a 3 mile run today and should earn 4 activity points which I am banking and not using.

John and I got stuff to make for dinner all week. Here are two photos from this past week.

So overall week one of training is down and went great!

I leave you with a photo of Dakota with the rat you we got him at Ikea on his back. He is indifferent. :)

Time to go run! :)

p.s. Photo of my breakfast this morning! Only four points!
